Ronald Sachs, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Sachs received advanced training in retinal surgery and preformed clinical research during his fellowship in Retina Vitreous Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Sachs received training in eye surgery and performed his residency program in Ophthalmology at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, where he served as chief resident. He completed his internship at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT.ĭr. He received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in Manhattan. Sachs graduated summa cum laude with highest honors and Phi Beta Kappa. He attended Tulane University in New Orleans as an undegraduate. Ronald Sachs, MD was born and raised in northern New Jersey. Xia is particularly excited about introducing the Port Delivery System (PDS) to New Jersey, as soon as it is formally FDA approved. Her academic interests include the investigation of novel pharmacologic agents for the treatment of both dry and wet forms of macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. She has a particular interest in sutureless scleral fixated intraocular lenses, repair of retinal detachments, macular pucker removal and macular hole repair. At Scheie, she developed an expertise in the diagnosis and management of diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and ocular inflammatory conditions, as well as, in all aspects of vitreoretinal surgery. Xia recently concluded her two-year Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery fellowship at the prestigious Scheie Eye Institute of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She completed her Ophthalmology residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School during which time she published more than 10 peer-reviewed publications and presented at numerous regional, national and international ophthalmic meetings.ĭr.
